Highlights of Emergency Responses for December
2011:
12/01/11
Responded to alarm activation at a local store. Upon arrival, Pumper 8 circled around the building and parked in front of the FDC and fire hydrant. Company Officer notified Dispatch that Pumper 8 was on scene, nothing showing from 4 sides, audible alarm could be heard, out investigating. Store personnel stated they had already secured the water to the sprinkler system due to a broken sprinkler head, but the water was still flowing. The head flowing water was the first one that you came across walking into the access door of the cooler. Crews stopped the flow of water using sprinkler tongs.

Responded to a possible fire alarm at a local church. The alarm that was going off was a burglar alarm.

Crews responded for a cardiac arrest call. Patient was pronounced DOA upon arrival.

Crews responded to a call for a water leak. Upon arrival they found a water leak under a sink in the residence. The crew turned off the water to the unit for the home owner.

Crews responded to a possible gas leak. Upon arrival crews found that someone had dumped an unknown chemical into the storm drains prior to moving.

Crews responded to alarm activation at a residence. Upon arrival they found light smoke in the residence caused by a problem with the fire place. Crews extinguished the fire and informed the homeowner to have someone inspect the fire place.

Pumper 8 and Fire Marshall 8 responded to Niceville for a Structure Fire. Upon arrival Command requested Pumper 8 crew stage in front of the residence for manpower assistance. Pumper 8 crew and Fire Marshall 8 assisted in overhaul and ventilation.

Crews responded to Niceville for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival crews were release by command.

Pumper 8 crew was busy on another call when a medical came in. East Niceville Engine 13 and Fire Marshal 8responded to the call.

Crews responded to a possible structure fire in Niceville. Canceled enroute to the call.

Crews responded to a possible structure fire in Niceville. Covered the Niceville area until the other units came available.

Responded to a possible structure fire. Upon arrival nothing found. Good intent by neighbor who thought she saw smoke coming from a AC unit.

Crews responded to a possible overdose. Upon arrival crews found a patient who had ingested numerous medications in a possible suicide attempt.

Crews were dispatched for a possible overdose call, when the crew came down to respond to the call, a respiratory patient pulled up on the ramp. While half the crew responded to another call, a patient came to the station and requested assistance. The patient has been treated by personnel in the past for respiratory problems. The patient was treated for an acute asthma attack.

While responding to one call another call came in. Pumper 8 responded to the second call and EMS and Chief 8 and Fire Marshal 8 responded to the other call.

Crews responded to a structure fire in Valparaiso. Called in on a second alarm for a working structure fire.
