Board of Fire Commissioners
December 14, 2010

Call to Order: Chairman Miller called the Board of Fire Commissioners’
meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Ralph Banegas administered the Oath of Office to newly appointed Board of
Fire Commission Jerry L. Cashion.

Public Inputs: There were no public inputs.

Old Business
The minutes for November 9, 2010 regular Board of Fire Commissioners’
meeting was reviewed. After
further review and discussion, Commissioner Cashion made a motion to accept
the minutes as written, motion seconded by
The Financial Statement Report for November 1-30, 2010 regular Board of Fire
Commissioners’ meeting was reviewed.
After further review and discussion,
Fire Chief Miller presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners with a
proposed (draft) monthly balance/assets/reserves worksheet.
Chief Miller opened the floor for discussion.
After further review and discussion, the Board of Fire Commissioners
asked Chief Miller to make adjustments to his existing worksheet to produce
a more accurate and comprehensive financial product so our constituents can
easily understand the management of funds entrusted to the North Bay Fire
Control District.
Chairman Miller turned the meeting over to Fire Chief Miller to report on
new business.

New Business
The North Bay Fire Control District Board of Fire Commissioners realigned
their appointed positions.
Fire Chief Miller informed the Board of Fire Commissioners that on December
8, 2010, the Northwest Florida Daily Newspaper advertised the regular
monthly Board of Fire Commissioners meeting for 2011.
Pursuant to Florida Statute 286.011, the North Bay Fire Control District, a
political subdivision of the State of
Chairman Miller briefed the Board of Fire Commissioners on the status of the
Review of Survey. Chairman
Miller stated that “we don’t have a local survey.”
We do have a couple of Statewide and National surveys, which were handed out
to the Board of Fire Commissioners to review.
Calls have been made to determine the time, money, and energy to
review and produce a survey.
This is only a “review” and should have some more information by the
regular Board of Fire Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.
Fire Chief Miller announced to the Board of Fire Commissioners that
Firefighter Thomas G. Schmelzle terminated his employment with the North Bay
Fire Control District on December 15, 2010.
Chief Miller extended his sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude
to Firefighter Schmelzle for his outstanding support and contributions to
the Fire District and the entire community.
Our best wishes to Firefighter Schmelzle for continued success!
Fire Chief Miller informed the Board of Fire Commissioners that the Annual
Audit with Carr, Riggs & Ingram is still underway.
Fire Chief Miller informed the Board of Fire Commissioners that the North
Bay Fire Control District’s Annual Christmas & Appreciation Dinner will be
held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Bluewater Bay Clubhouse
Restaurant. The Social begins
at 6:00 p.m., and the Dinner (buffet style) at 7:00 p.m.

Fire Chief Miller announced to the Board of Fire Commissioners that the
“Employment Anniversary” for the month of December 2010 to
Fire Chief Miller announced “Happy Birthday Greetings” for the month of
December 2010 to Firefighter/Paramedic Travis Zaal (Dec 5th);
FF/EMT Daniel Mitchell (Dec 10th); and Assistant Fire Chief Gary
Jordan (Dec 27th)
Happy Birthday to all, many happy returns and many more to come!
Assistant Fire Chief Jordan presented the Board of Fire Commissioners with
the Assistant Fire Chief’s Report for November 2010.
Assistant Fire Chief Jordan presented the Board of Fire Commissioners with
the November 2010 Fire Incident Run Report.
The North Bay Fire Control District responded to a total of 88
incidents: 7 structure fires; 2 wildland fires; 56 medicals; 4 motor vehicle
accidents; 8 cancelled enroutes; 5 false alarms/alarm activations; 3 good
intents; and 3 service calls.
This brings the total to 890 alarm runs for the year.
Dollar loss for the year is $30,500.00.
Fire
Marshal Losinger presented the Board of Fire Commissioners with the Fire
Marshal’s Report for November 2010.
Division
Chief Parker presented the Board of Fire Commissioners with the District’s
Training Report for November 2010.
Chairman Miller asked if there were any other comments from the floor before
adjournment. There were no other
comments.
The meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
